Jacques Bodin, peintre, vit et travaille à Levallois Perret, France
C' est un des principaux représentant du courant hyperréaliste européen.
Ses peintures sont réalisées à partir de ses propres photographies qui sont retravaillées avec des outils numériques puis projetées sur la toile à l'aide d'un vidéoprojecteur.
La réalisation des grands formats nécessite ensuite plusieurs mois de travail.
Il explore quelques thèmes de prédilection tels que l'herbe, les fruits, les cheveux, les natures mortes ou la végétation traités avec un véritable souci du détail.
Les sujets sont la plupart du temps traités en gros plans, sous un éclairage indirect.
A la frontière du minimalisme certaines de ses oeuvres témoignent d'un aspect conceptuel de l'hyperréalité.
L'apparente frontalité hyperréaliste des premiers plans est mise en regard avec l'aspect diffus des arrières plans dans lesquels on distingue des lignes de fuite qui viennent casser l'ordonnancement graphique de la toile.
Un hyperréalisme à double foyer en quelque sorte.
Le premier regard s'attache à l'aspect méticuleux de la réalisation tandis que l'oeil se perd au travers de ce qu'on croit discerner comme étant une porte, une ouverture, une forme abstraite.
Il a participé à de nombreuses expositions tant personnelles que collectives en France ainsi qu'à l'étranger et son travail est reproduit dans de nombreux ouvrages.

He is one of the main representatives of the European hyperrealist current.
His paintings are made from his own photographs which are reworked with digital tools and then projected onto the canvas using a video projector.
The realization of large formats requires several months of work.
He explores some favorite themes such as grass, fruits, hair, still lifes or vegetation treated with a genuine attention to detail.
The subjects are mostly treated in close-ups, under indirect lighting.
On the frontier of minimalism, some of his works bear witness to a conceptual aspect of hyperreality.
The apparent hyperrealist frontality of the foregrounds is contrasted with the diffuse aspect of the backgrounds in which we distinguish lines of flight which break the graphical order of the canvas, a dual focus hyperrealism in a way.
The first glance focuses on the meticulous aspect of the realization while the eye is lost through the more abstract forms of the background.
